Teddys, teddys, and more teddys

Emma loves to give her Teddy bear or other stuffed animals (monkey, lamb, etc) hugs when she first sees them. She even has the soft pat on the back in her routine. Often when she is sad or needs some comforting, we give her her teddy or some other animal and she cuddles with it.
However, it is not just when she is sad that she likes her teddy. She loves to play peek-a-boo and to play silly games with them. Her natural reaction whenever she sees a bear or stuffed animal is to reach out and start squealing.
We are not sure where her love for her teddy has come from. We haven't even really encouraged her in that direction. However, we would give her her teddy when we changed her diaper to keep her hands busy - maybe that is where it comes from. Now she loves to explore their faces - touch their eyes, nose, mouth, etc.

What is really funny, is that her hug routine is now being over-generalized to her cup and the Elmo Hot Tomato Game.
